Dr. Traver SopociChiropractor |
Dr. Traver Sopoci graduated from Parker College of Chiropractic in Dallas, Texas, after his own personal health issues lead him to the chiropractic lifestyle. He and his family have always had a drive to help people who suffer with health problems. What he loves most about chiropractic is the chance to give back someone’s life. Dr. Traver and his wife had just moved to Dallas where he was to finish college and wanted to go medical school, but he developed a painful intestinal condition. The symptoms came on suddenly, but there were underlying problems that had been there for years. The intestinal pains were so intense he became a prisoner in his own house. He could no longer eat normal meals and his body started to waste away. He went from 185 pounds to a sickly 150 pounds. The MD’s ran every exam under the sun; what the medical doctors found was inflammation in the colon. The internist ended up diagnosing Dr. Traver with Colitis (a type of irritable bowel syndrome). The doctors gave him a drug and told him that he would be on it for the rest of his life. There was little improvement with the medication, and he was afraid that he would not be able to have a normal life again. The only other option would be surgery (according to them) to remove the affected area of the colon. But Dr. Traver was not willing to take that option. A friend convinced him to give chiropractic a try. That is where he learned about the nerve interference in his spine that was the underlying cause of his issues. While under chiropractic care his body was able to start the healing needed to get well. It has been 12 years of being under regular chiropractic care and no medicine. Dr. Traver has undergone extensive postgraduate training with the greatest minds in the healing arts and brings the most advanced adjusting skills to help people of all ages. He is currently undergoing an extensive certification to become a Certified Chiropractic Wellness Practitioner (CCWP). The most important thing Dr. Traver does for his wife, Betsy, and two daughters, Gianna and Reagan, is ensure they are expressing their full health potential through the power of chiropractic. Dr. Traver enjoys playing football, basketball, golf, lacrosse and being outdoors with his family. |

Tammy SteenwykAdministrative Assistant |
Tammy Steenwyk graduated from Sam Houston State University in 2004 with a Bachelors of Arts in Food Service Management with a minor in Health. She married Joshua Steenwyk in June 2005 and worked in the fitness industry as an AFAA certified personal trainer working one on one with clients and also teaching private Pilates lessons for four years before coming to work for Healthy Beginnings in October 2009. Tammy still loves fitness and enjoys running and hiking in her free time, going to the movies, traveling and sharing the life changing potential of chiropractic. She has lived in the Montgomery area since getting married.
Life has changed dramatically for Tammy since coming to work for Healthy Beginnings. She would have considered herself a "healthy" person prior to chiropractic, but now knows that what she considered healthy was heavily influenced by a popular perception of health but not necessarily the truth. The biggest change occurred for Tammy and her husband in February 2011 when after struggling with infertility for five years, she became pregnant. This news proved to be truly miraculous considering the Steenwyks had employed every medical approach to fertility including three rounds of In Vitro Fertilization prior to October 2009. Doctors had informed Tammy that she would most likely not ever be able to conceive. Tammy fully believes that healing from the Lord through chiropractic made this possible; normal function was restored and she gave birth to a healthy baby boy named Oliver in November of 2011. She now enjoys being a stay at home mom and helping out in the office whenever possible. |
